Office Gallery Wall with Minted.

For the past few months, I’ve been working on a little refresh to my home office, which is located in our finished attic. The space is cool: it’s one giant, expansive room with sloped ceilings and little dormer nooks. It’s been a great space for me to sneak off to get some work done and also a spot for storing all of my home decor accessories, wallpaper remnants, and samples.

The first thing I did was to wallpaper the entire floor, which you can read more about here. Next, I wanted to layer in artwork to really make the space feel cozy but also to help create a spot to foster creativity. There’s nothing worse than staring at a blank wall while you’re working at your desk! So, I was really excited to collaborate with Minted, my go-to art source, on this project!

First, a look at where we started:

I started by browsing through Minted’s website to find pieces that spoke to me.

I knew that I wanted to hang a mini gallery wall because just one piece didn’t feel right. Given the sloped ceilings, there’s really just one wall (over my desk) that’s high enough for art so I wanted to make the most of it!

The first piece I found was this “Parisian Windows” photograph. I loved it and thought it would look really cool hung as an oversized piece over the desk so I chose the 30x24 size and framed it in the champagne silver metal frame and added a white border.

Next, I stumbled upon this “It Feels Good to be Kind” print. I don’t typically love typography, but I really liked the typeface and obviously the quote. For this particular print, you could also choose from a few different font colors, so I “sky” colorway, which coordinated really beautifully with the Parisian print. I clicked on size 11x14 and chose the champagne silver frame to match the other one!

I just needed one more print to complete the gallery wall and went back and forth between a few before finally settling on “Azalea en Noir” sketch in size 18x24. It coordinated really nicely with the other two (similar colors, tone) but was a completely different medium, which is the look that I was going for.

Having a gallery wall comprised of one piece of photography, one piece of typography, and one sketch felt like a natural, curated grouping because the colors are all in the same family and I framed each piece in the exact same frame.

Here’s a look at all three of the pieces together:

Next came the fun part: laying it all out and getting them up on the wall! The wall isn’t large and the sloped ceiling was tricky, but I hung all three and they looked gorgeous together. BUT I’d be lying if I said it felt finished. Something was missing and I realized that I needed one more small piece to really fill in the wall. So, I dug around and found two pieces of art (also from Minted!) that I had ordered a few months ago but had not yet hung anywhere. Both worked nicely but I ended up using the “Southern Cotton Double Bloom” because I loved how the square shape worked on the wall.

Here’s a look at the final wall! What do you guys think?!
