Ava's Bedroom Glow-Up.

Oh boy, it’s been awhile! I’ll admit that between life and work and family obligations, this little blog has fallen to the wayside — but with summer just around the corner, I’ve vowed to get back into it and so here we go!!

A few weeks ago, Ava asked me if we could add some more color to her bedroom. Here’s a peek at her room in its current state:

Ava already had a pink upholstered bed (which we LOVE but is sadly no longer available in the pink colorway) and a colorful rug but she wanted something whimsical and FUN. I asked if she’d like new wallpaper or updated art on her gallery wall but she said no — she wanted to keep those as-is. So I thought, “why not swap in some colorful curtains?”

I scoured a few sites until I found two options from Anthropologie that I really loved and decided to order them both. We’d hang them on the windows together and then Ava could choose her favorite! As soon as they arrived, I knew which one was my favorite but I still wanted Ava to choose. Thankfully, she thinks just like her mom and chose the same panels that I fell in love with :)

I hung the curtain panels up right away and they instantly added so much warmth and color. Truly the easiest room update!

But there was one more thing to change: the honeycomb shade in her bedroom that was installed when we first moved in no longer closed properly (and was not the prettiest) so I ordered my favorite woven shade from Two Pages. They’re so easy to install and the quality is amazing. This is the fourth room that I’ve installed them in (they’re also in Jacob’s bedroom, our guest bedroom & kitchen!).

Below are a few photos of Ava’s updated room. I just love how one small update can really transform a space.

Everything in Ava’s bedroom (her art, bedding, furniture, decor) can be found here.

P.S. Two Pages was kind enough to give me a code to share with all of you: GIRLONTHEHUDSON will give you a discount on any Two Pages products! Here’s a to a short video showing how I typically install the woven bamboo shade (and any other Two Pages shade) in our home.
