My Favorite Kitchen Runners.

Adding a runner to a kitchen is an easy way to add warmth, color and texture to a space that can sometimes feel cold and sterile. Because the kitchen is often the most-used and busiest room in the house, it can be a challenge to find a rug that cozies up the space without feeling too precious (because let’s face it, spills happen in here!).

We’ve had quite a few runners in our kitchen over the years — everything from vintage to newer hand-knotted or synthetic designs. Each has done really well in our messy, busy kitchen and have only been swapped out because I like to change up the look every so often. Below, I’m sharing photos of the runner that we’ve had, a look at the newest one (which I’m so excited about!!) and links to others that I really love.

First a look at the newest rug, which is the Billie in Ink/Salmon from the newest Amber Interior x Loloi Rugs collection. I’m absolutely obsessed with the deep inky blue tones and the rust and blush colors. It has a wonderful “worn” look to it but it’s new (and incredibly affordable). It has a low pile, wipes clean and is just really soft underfoot. I love it!

Prior to this rug, we had the stunning Alamere runner from Serena & Lily in our kitchen. I absolutely love this one as well and would 100% recommend it. I feel like its lighter colors are slightly more suited for summer, which is why I swapped in the new Loloi recently but I have a feeling that the Alamere will be back in a few months! Right now it’s upstairs in our hallway. Below is a shot of it in our kitchen before I moved it upstairs:

And the very first runner we had was actually a vintage beauty from Loom & Dwell. I can’t link it since it’s one-of-a-kind but I’ve included some similar options in my roundup of favorites at the bottom of this post!

Swapping out a kitchen runner (or adding one to a space that’s bare) is such an easy way to change the look of your kitchen. It adds color, texture, warmth, and personality. It also makes your kitchen feel like a true room in your home (which it it!!). Below are some other runners that I’m absolutely loving for kitchens:
