Our Guest Bedroom Lighting.

This week, we finally installed a light fixture in our guest bedroom that I’ve had sitting around for about four months…. and boy does it look good!

First, let’s remind to what we used to have: I ordered the Conical lush mount from Rejuvenation for our guest bedroom years ago because I loved the look of it and it had great reviews. But almost immediately after installing it, I knew it wasn’t right for the room. Despite being a larger fixture, it looked too small in the room and didn’t fit with the rest of the space. But installing a light is an annoying task, so I lived with it for about three years while searching for the perfect fixture.

We have eight foot ceilings upstairs so I couldn’t go with a pendant or chandelier that hung too low and so many flush mount lights lack what’s really important… light!

Fast-forward to this past summer when I helped a friend source lighting for her nursery and stumbled upon this beauty from Anthropologie.

It’s a whimsical twist on a modern bubble flush mount with an asymmetrical shape and the prettiest milk-glass shades. We chose it for the nursery and then a few months later, when I saw it on sale, I ordered it for our guest bedroom. It was perfect! But, as with most projects in my own home, it took a backseat to other more important to-do’s and so the fixture sat in our attic for four months until this week!! And as soon as it was installed, I knew it was perfect.

The arms of the fixture can actually rotate, so you can place them where they’ll work best in your room and the milk-glass shades give off the prettiest light. And it’s bright, which I love. I have it on a dimmer and it’s actually perfect. You can shop it HERE.

While I was looking for the fixture, I noticed that it’s also available in a sconce and pendant version, which are equally stunning. How cool would a pair of sconces look in a kids’ bedroom or above a window seat? And that pendant adds the perfect amount of drama. I hope I get to use these pieces in a client project soon!
